The ad supported software, that opens the “Google Chrome Virus Warning” pop-up ads, is not a virus, but the virus behaves similarly. As a rootkit hides in the system, changes internet browser settings and blocks them from changing. Remove redirect virus from Google Chrome. Open Chrome, click the Customize and control Google Chrome (⁝) icon in the top right-hand part of the window, and select Settings in the drop-down. I was on google chrome and a new tab opened randomly with the apple support logo and was saying I had a virus. it was trying to get me to save a pdf file and there was a number ontop of the google chrome icon in my bar that had a number going up rapidly. I couldnt do anything to exit out so I just shut down the laptop. I went back into chrome and deleted my history/cookies/etc. and I checked my downloads for any files I didn’t download but none are there. Software writing download mac. I’m currently updating my laptop to the newest apple software. Do I have anything to worry about? I know these are usually scams but I cant help but feel scared I have a virus. Google Chrome Virus
